We’re thrilled to share some news: Expanso has won the EDGE AI London 2026 Startup Pitch Competition, run by the Edge AI Foundation. This is our Edge AI Startup of the Year moment.
It’s a genuine honor, and it points squarely at the problem we get up every morning to solve.
Why this matters
Expanso helps organizations build intelligent, global data pipelines by shifting data processing closer to where data is created. That shift unlocks three things that get harder every year as data volumes explode:
- Better governance: apply policy, redaction, and lineage at the source, before data ever moves.
- Improved cost control: filter and transform upstream so your platforms only pay for the data that matters.
- Faster insights: act on data where it lives instead of waiting on a round trip to a centralized warehouse.
Being recognized for this work tells us the market sees what we see: the center of gravity for data is moving to the edge, and the tooling has to move with it.
An incredible field
The competition showcased an incredible group of founders and innovators tackling some of the biggest challenges in edge AI, Physical AI, embedded systems, and intelligent infrastructure. Standing among them was the best part of the day. The future of edge AI is bright, and it’s being built by companies like these.
Thank you
A huge thank you to all of the startups who participated, and to the judges, mentors, and attendees who made this year’s competition such a success. And special thanks to our prize sponsors, Microsoft and ipXchange, for supporting the next generation of edge AI innovators.
What’s next
We’re going to keep doing exactly what won us this award: making it radically simpler to govern, filter, and process data wherever it’s created. If that’s a problem you’re wrestling with, there’s no better time to try it.
